The United Religions Initiative was founded in 2000
URI is an international organization whose purpose is to promote lasting and interreligious cooperation on a daily basis, end religiously motivated violence and create cultures of peace, justice and healing for Earth and all living beings.
So far, in Latin America and the Caribbean, the URI is made up of 58 Cooperation Circles in Argentina, Brazil, Bolivia, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Mexico, Paraguay, Panama, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.
The work includes the cultural, social and religious diversity as well as the great teachings of indigenous worldviews.
Similarly, to generate interreligious cooperation in the region, it promotes values such as circularity, solidarity, sustainability, transparency, abundance, trust and mutual responsibility.
A permanent spirit of joy and tenderness; and sensitivity towards discernment for the common good.
URI is a global interfaith network that cultivates peace and justice by committing people to overcome the differences between their spiritual and cultural traditions to work together for the well-being of their communities and the world.
“Love and inner Light are the foundations of the respectful Encounter of souls on their way to appreciate cultural and religious diversity as a new conscience to build Peace.”Dr. Enoé Texier
